Overseas Filipinos and migration stakeholders in 4 Countries and 7 provinces to participate in a project to Mobilize Migrant Resources for Agriculture Development
Overseas Filipinos and families together with government, NGOs and private sector in Italy, UAE, Qatar and Singapore and Batangas, Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Tarlac, Ifugao, Misamis Oriental and Agusan del Sur in the Philippines will participate in a project aimed at mobilising migrant re-sources towards agriculture development. The project is implemented by Atikha in partnership with Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP)and supported by International Fund for Agriculture Development Financing Facility for Remittance (IFAD FFR).
Migration Stakeholders launches Gender Sensitive Financial Education Course for ASEAN Migrants in Singapore
The goal of many migrant workers is to be able to send their children to school and support the needs of their families. They dream of saving and investing enough money to be able to build homes and to start their own businesses when they return home. However, the majority are not able to sufficiently save and invest to fulfill their long-term goals despite long years of work abroad.

Landbank joined the successful back to back activities of Pinoy Worldwide Initiative for Investment Savings and Entrepreneurship (PinoyWISE) Movement in United Arab Emirates and Qatar from November 5 to November 15 to promote investments, agri-business and services to overseas Filipinos and families. Pinoy WISE is a network of government, NGOs, migrant and family organizations and private sector that provide financial education and promote investment, trade and tourism opportunities in the Philippines among the overseas Filipinos. Landbank has been a partner organization of Pinoy WISE since it was formally launched in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates last November 23, 2012.

Pinoy WISE Encourages Overseas Filipinos from UAE and Qatar to invest in their Local Communities
The first Pinoy WISE International Conference with theme: “Engaging Overseas Filipinos in Migration and Development Initiatives” was held in Crown Plaza Hotel in Abu Dhabi on November 7-8, 2014. It brought together around 200 delegates from the Philippines, Singapore, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Germany, Netherlands and Italy. Parallel activity of the conference is the Exhibit of the participating organizations and provinces in which programs and services for overseas Filipinos, products and tourism destinations of partner Pinoy WISE provinces and private sector were showcased.

BPI sponsors Pinoy WISE Financial Education campaign in UAE and Qatar
“The Financial education course changed my mindset. Before, all my income was spent for the family as I always want to give the best for them. I even took loans for travel and vacations because I know that I have a good job as an OFW. But after I attended the financial education training, my priorities changed. I started to save and invest”.
Sec. Proceso Alcala and Gov. Alfonso Umali Jr. lead the launching of the savings and investment mobilization movement for OFWs in United Arab Emirates
Sec. Proceso Alcala, of the Department of Agriculture, Gov. Alfonso Umali Jr, H. E. Ambassador Grace Princesa, together with representatives of OWWA and Atikha, a NGO working for OFWs leads the International Launching of the Pinoy WISE movement on November 23, 2012 at the Abu Dhabi National Theater. Pinoy WISE movement is a network of national and local government agencies, migrant organizations, non-government organizations, cooperatives, banks and companies which converge their initiatives to support the financial education and address family concerns of migrants and families. It also aims to promote investment, trade and eco-tourism of provinces of origin of overseas Filipinos. The event in UAE is coordinated by the Philippine Embassy and Bayanihan, a network of more than 40 migrant organizations in UAE. There event will start with a launching program in the morning and parallel events in the afternoon to include exhibits, meeting with the provincial government, agri-business opportunity seminar and counselling.
PinoyWISE Public Meeting successfully held in Turin

A very successful public meeting was held at Casa del Quarteri in Turin, Italy last March 11, 2012 organized by Atikha and ACFIL. The said gathering also marked as the kick-off activity of PinoyWISE International, an association of Financial Counselors worldwide.
Inculcating the Value of Regular Savings: An Approach to Secure Investments

To encourage OFWs to save and invest was one of the main goals of the financial literacies and orientations of the Pinoywise movement that we conducted last year. We endorsed Save Before You Spend” and introduced the formula of saving 10% of income if possible. To materialize the said objective and verify the outcome of the value formation, we motivated our fellow OFWs to enroll in a cooperative, the trusted and the number 1 agri-based cooperative in the Philippines, the SIDC ( Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative) which is in Batangas. We also promoted its concrete investment package that provides savings window for OFWS, the SIDC EGG LAYER FARM. This is an investment with a minimum of Php 100,000 in SIDC Egg Layer Farm Project payable in One Year or more depending on the financial capacities.
