Training of Trainers on Financial Literacy in Maribojoc Bohol

The Training of Trainers on Financial Literacy (Level 2) was held in Maribojoc, Bohol from March 21 to 24, 2011. It was participated by Local Government Staffs from Batangas, Laguna, Pampanga and Tarlac. The training aims to capacitate the trainers in orienting OFWs and their families on the various financial and investment instruments available in the market and help them decide on where to invest their savings wherein they can earn additional income.

The methodologies by which the workshop on assessing the financial needs and capacity of an individual was conducted, were very much enjoyed by the participants.

The Local Government of Maribojoc is one of the partners of Atikha in the Global Forum on Migration and Development. Maribojoc is the only municipality who has set-up a complete data base of overseas workers in their locality. The overseas workers and their families are well-organized. In fact, the people’s org are the one’s operating the home-stay accommodation in their area.

The participants and staffs of Atikha learned so much from the experience and the opportunity of exploring the interventions in Maribojoc.
