BPI sponsors Training of Trainers on Financial Literacy and Addressing Barriers to Reintegration for OFWs in Qatar and UAE

photo0202The training of trainers is part of the Pinoy Worldwide Initiative for Investment Savings and Entrepreneurship (Pinoy WISE) Financial Literacy Campaign. The training was conducted in the United Arab Emirates from August 9 to 11, 2013 and the State of Qatar from August 16, 17 and August 23, 2013.

Twenty five migrant leaders  from UAE and 25 migrant leaders from Qatar attended the seminar. The participants came from various OFW organizations,  religious groups (both Christians and Muslims), professional organizations and hometown associations.Twenty five migrant leaders from UAE and 25 migrant leaders from Qatar attended the seminar. One of the champions of PinoyWISE in UAE is  H.E. Ambassador Grace Princesa who despite  her busy schedule made sure that she attended the  training.  She is very passionate in her advocacy on financial literacy and supported the PinoyWISE UAE in organizing the financial literacy training of trainers’ seminar.One of the champions of PinoyWISE in UAE is H.E. The Pinoy WISE Financial Education campaign was also warmly welcomed in Qatar. The Philippine Embassy headed by H.E. Ambassador Cresente Relacion fully supported the campaign  and assisted in organizing  the training seminar. The Ambassador  and Cultural Attache  Richard Billedo actively joined and participated in the three-day training held in the Philippine Embassy in Doha.The Pinoy WISE Financial Education campaign was also warmly welcomed in Qatar. The Philippine Embassy headed by H.E. Ambassador Cresente Relacion fully supported the campaign and assisted in organizing the training seminar. The training team was composed of Atikha Executive Director, Ms. Estrella Anonuevo, Deputy Director Aileen Constantino- Peñas, Baltazar Junio, Vangie Junio, Vivien Napenas and Anton Gimena. Aside from Atikha training team, the other trainers are graduates of the first batch Financial Literacy Training of Trainers seminar held in UAE.

Mr. Jerry Gerardo, Managing Director of BPI in UAE  and Mr. Ruel “Chuck” Perez, BPI representative in Qatar conveyed the support or their institution to the Pinoy WISE  financial education campaign. Likewise, the two  representatives conversed on BPI products and services to OFWs. Ms. Mai Anonuevo challenged the migrant leaders to reach out and share what they have learned to fellow migrants. The graduates thanked Atikha and its sponsors for bringing Pinoy WISE to UAE and Qatar and for carrying on the advocacy and message of Pinoy WISE to overseas Filipinos:
