We have a Roundtable Discussion on the China-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement and its impact on the Philippines. Among the issues that will be tackled in the Discussion will be the effect of the Agreement on the influx of Chinese and Taiwanese investments and tourists in our country. The repercussions of the Agreement on job opportunities for our OFWs in the two countries will also be touched. We are inviting participants from the OFW sector. We would be happy to hear your confirmation. The date is August 26, 2010 2-5PM at the GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center, Asian Center, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
By the way, I also serve as a Consultant for a major rural bank. Please let me know how can we extend loans or savings products to your OFW partners, their families and the enterprises they are managing at present. I also find the cooperatives you established as good avenues to put remittances into good use, helping spur countryside development. We, Ashley Torayno and Reiva Joy Javier are currently undergraduate students at the University of the Philippines Baguio majoring in Economics. We have found your web site and we are interested to know more about you. Our study is about the typical experiences of Overseas Filipino Workers and laws covering them. In line with this, we hope to gather data from existing OCW organizations as our key informants.

Hi, I'm a college instructor in UST and also taking up Doctor in Social Development in UP, Diliman. I am also a child of an OFW, thus my proposed dissertation studies in UP is focused on how to address the problems faced by the children of OFWs.
